About the project
Public-space purpose
Gate to the Moon is a landscape and gathering-space concept for the City Hall Green Zone in Lynwood. The 118,000-square-foot study gives the civic setting a recognizable focal point for daytime and evening use.
Design approach
An illuminated moon installation surrounded by seven rings anchors the proposal. Pergolas and shade structures provide seating areas around the central feature, while lighting shapes its evening character.
Concept stage
The project is presented as a 2024 concept. Its installation, shade structures, and lighting are proposed design elements, rather than a statement of completed construction.
